Issue #114 – Watch This. Mind Blown.
And hello February! Insert clichés about time flying. There’s not much we can do about it except for this: spend as many in-person moments with the people you love, friends who fill you up, and activities that make you happy (and don’t involve a screen). Ironic, as you are reading this on a screen where we have typed it. Let’s go to bed early. Drink more water. Lace up our running shoes and move. Don’t worry about trying to keep new year’s resolutions. Every day is new year’s day. Here’s our Spotify playlist to get your started: THE WHAT. RUN.

The Wow. Want to see something utterly f-ing amazing? Here’s some thrilling eye candy to top off your wonder reserves: Watch this insanity.
The Wheels. In our 2017 Reader Survey, one reader griped that our content on The What is privileged and pretentious. Okay, fair enough. It’s no secret we tend towards shiny objects. We’ll solemnly try to bring it back down to earth. But, today is not that day. We couldn’t resist sneaking you a peek of the Iron & Resin 4×4. Surely on the wish list of rich surfers everywhere.
The Wait. If you loved Six Feet Under, Alan Ball, the show’s creator is back with another dark comedy called Here and Now, which stars Holly Hunter and Tim Robbins as progressive parents of a multi-ethnic family. Premieres Feb 11 on HBO.
The Woo. Celebrity tattoo artist, Dr. Woo, is known for his hand-drawn dainty-chic designs that stand apart from the more typical sailor, Japanese, tribal, and neo-traditional tats. If we were in the market for a tattoo, we’d scan his Insta for inspo. And if tats aren’t you’re thing, here’s another source for zen design in the home front.
The Weekend. We previewed every 2018 Super Bowl commercial, and though Melissa McCarthy for Kia is a close second, we can’t wait to see the Doritos Blaze vs. Mountain Dew Ice spot from our friends at GS&P. Missy Elliot, Morgan Freeman, Peter Dinklage, and Busta Rhymes. Holla!
