Issue #127 – Eating Down The Lbs
We are what we eat. We know this and yet we often turn to comfort foods whenever the going gets tough. But, just today, during a meeting at our favorite local bookstore we were turned on to an extraordinary New Indian cookbook created with the intention to lower the blood sugar and carbohydrate intake of the author’s diabetic husband. We’re hoping to persuade superstar creator, Deepa Thomas, to share her stories at The What Women’s Connection Summit in October.

The Humanity. During a recent trip to New Orleans, we were pleasantly amazed by how many strangers greeted us daily. It will bring tears to your eyes and hopefully change the way you choose to see the world. We are signing up to volunteer at Lava Mae next month. Who’s in?
The WTF. Vanity, thy name is Blotox, which is a new term to describe injecting Botox into your scalp to make blowouts last longer. We’re not above fillers or whatever makes you feel your best, no judgment, but we can barely look at the photo in this article let alone undergo this madness.
The Women. This weekend is The United States of Women sold-out summit that gathers women, girls, and allies from across the country to break down barriers and create equality and opportunity for women. Michelle Obama will be there along with other powerful and inspiring community and business leaders like Sallie Krawcheck who will be talking about closing the gender investing gap and #DisruptMoney movement. We’ll be glued to the free livestream Saturday starting at 11:30a ET / 8:30a PT via The United States of Women Facebook page and the USOW website.
