Issue #171 – The Spring Break List
We are gearing up for a little travel over the next few weeks so we’ve been amassing a modest mountain of content to review on planes, trains, and automobiles. There have been vibrant discussions in our private group, The What Women, on topics ranging from parenting tween girls to favorite podcasts, books, and tv shows. In this issue, we surface some of our best, communal finds.
THE WHAT LIST

Roads & Kingdoms is the smartest travel site around. The late (beloved) Anthony Bourdain was their first and only investor. His penchant for journalistic, philosophical reporting—spotlighting not simply food but also geography, politics, and community—is palpable in every piece. If you plan to venture anywhere this year, visit R&K’s city guides first. They’re sophisticated, exquisitely researched, and a vacation in itself to read. Truly special stuff.
We’re back to our two-books-a-week schedule in preparation for our Best Spring Fiction List whereby we recommend everything we read and love. We’re a little behind this month so instead, we’re rather lazily linking to our reading list. Here’s what’s sitting on our nightstand.
We vow never to buy paper party plates from any other source than Geese & Ganders founded by Belena Stanford, our dear friend and constant supporter of The What. In addition to elevating the humdrum party aesthetic to a galactic level, we love her mission ‘to break through the traditional boy and girl aisles of pre-packed party designs.’ Belena passionately believes that Kids Can Do And Be Anything. Spread the word, tell all your parent friends, and check out G&G for your next shindig.
Spring Break abounds for parents and students in the U.S. which may explain why a recent swimsuit post on TWW received more than 150 recommendations. Here are two dozen + of our favorites.
And if you’re looking for a new show to watch, there are 271 suggestions (and counting) on The What Women.
