Issue #76 The Learning Diet. It Works.
Last week we asked your advice about Instagram but we promise you our email newsletter is not going away. Our social helps us share finds daily, as well as learn what’s on your radar. Tell us what things work for you by tagging #thewhatlist_reader. Every week we’ll choose someone from that list to receive a Reader Test Tote from The What editorial closet. Please follow us here and join our community of What Listers.

The Trip — We are hypnotized by Horizon, the latest video by Tycho, which debuted at Coachella this week. We almost couldn’t tear ourselves away from it to write this newsletter.
The Art — If you love Contemporary Art and publications with thick creamy paper stock and sophisticated journalism, check out Elephant, our new favorite art mag.
The Beauty — Every now and then we stumble across a product we can’t leave home without. Olio E Osso’s small batch French Melon cheek and lip balm, made with locally sourced beeswax and shea butter, comes in a widemouth stick. Sheer color for all skin tones.
The Cocktails — We are unparalleled wine lovers but as the reds are making us toss and turn at night, we’re rediscovering the joy of a well-mixed drink. Here are 33 Spring Cocktails recommended by our friends at T&C.
The Nostalgia — Our Content Chief, Gina Pell, penned The Samoan Princess about her mother on Eat Darling Eat, a cozy corner of the web that captures stories about mothers and daughters connecting in the kitchen.
We’ve been featured on-camera and in podcasts, print, and online singing the praises of the term Perennials and encouraging people to think of themselves and others as ever-blooming, always learning, and pushing up against a growing edge. But we’ve started questioning internally at The What HQ, what are we actively doing to grow and reach beyond our present knowledge base? So, we started a challenge to learn something new every month, be it personal or professional. This month GP is learning basic coding in Python and AP is going to take her Photoshop skills to another level, as well as enrolling in Elizabeth Gilbert’s Creativity Workshop on Udemy. Lynda and Skillshare are other learning platforms we use but there are plenty of free ones you can find here. We’d love to know what you want to learn so post it on Fb or tag us on Instagram with #thewhatlist_learn. Have a wonderful week and we’ll see you next Wednesday. Happy learning.
“A happy life is one spent learning, earning, and yearning.”
