Issue #86 The Lab Report
The long-awaited The What Lab Report #1 is here. We try and test a lot at tW HQ. Some things work out, some we scrap and go back to the drawing board. Below are a few things we tested over the past 18-months that we continue to use. Please note that our findings are not endorsements, recommendations, or paid advertisements. Our Lab Report simply outlines the trial and error we take on as lifestyle editors. If you like reading our weekly list, check our our fast-growing Fb community, The What :: Women. You’ll find intelligent, supportive conversations and more discoveries like these.

100% Editorial picks. No pay for play. Ever.
The Skin — We have both been fans of Canadian skincare products by NIOD ever since our research beauty guru Brandi turned us on to them. Noticeable and immediate results but it’s wise to do your own research on the controversy around hyaluronic acid.
The Brain — Coconut Oil gets mixed reviews and usually a thumbs down from cardiologists but the MCT that’s found in coconut oil is said to aid in brain health and functioning. Amy takes it every morning and finds this to be the case. You be the judge.
The Blast — We’ve been testing the FasciaBlaster since last winter. It’s a sturdy stick-like device that you rub against cellulite and stiff muscle tissue to break up the fascia. It’s painful, causes bruising, and takes time but most medical professionals and physical therapists we’ve talked to are fans.
The Seeds — In 2015 we wrote about Seed Cycling, a natural method for balancing hormones and mood swings. The process is too high maintenance for us but then we’re often morning slackers (or at least one of us is ; )
The Cane — Here’s another magic stick we swear by, the Theracane. It’s like having a live-in massage therapist but like the FasciaBlaster, you actually have to use it regularly in order for it to work.
