Issue #91 Worry. Be Happy.
Okay, so yes. We covered a book on death last week, an article on depression, and a perspective on how to get over heartbreak. This was our reaction to the world going to hell in a handbasket and vacation coming to an end. Our delightful and canny friend, Natasha, sighed over her champagne last Thursday and remarked, “August is one long Sunday.” So true, so let’s savor these last few drops of summer.

The Food — We live happily, enviously even, among vegans and vegetarians in our households. Something we’re going to try this season, in lieu of Meatless Monday, is going without meat for one full week every month. Here are the recipes we’re trying first.
The Book — Our wise and compassionate friend Julie H. turned us on to a beautiful book written by Pema Chödrön called When Things Fall Apart:Heart Advice for Difficult Times. If you or someone you love is suffering for any reason, this book is a gift of enlightenment.
The Watch — Everyone is talking about the gripping new show, Ozark. It’s on our watchlist now.
The Hands — We asked a question in The What Women’s forum about one beauty regret and not taking better care of one’s hands was high on the list. For those who spend time driving in sunny climes these sun-shielding driving gloves are hand savers.
The Lab — We are testing a natural supplement called PharmaGABA, highly recommended by two of our readers that both relaxes and maintains mental focus. Friends say that it’s an instant stress-reliever, especially the chewables, and helps with sleep.
