Issue #3 Thanksgiving Big Chill Issue
Behold our Thanksgiving Big Chill Issue, an assemblage of What to watch, read, enjoy, and give back. In a world where many people are unable to indulge this week or any week, Amy and I have much to be grateful for. We’re especially thankful for you, dear reader. Happy Thanksgiving.

The Spirits — Take the edge off with a creative cocktail from Imbibe.
The Spuds — If you’re assigned potatoes this year, try this five star recipe.
The Binge — Transparent (Emmy award-winning comedy-drama about a transgender parent and her narcissistic adult children), The Thick of It (The Office meets House of Cards on BBC), Better Call Saul (prequel to Breaking Bad), The Royals (Mindless, guilty pleasure à la Gossip Girl with Liz Hurley as the Queen.) The Dead Unknown by Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting (an intriguing docuseries about the missing and unidentified dead in America.)
The Books — The Tsar of Love and Techno (lyrical, interlocking stories that meander through the eras and the USSR); Fates and Furies (a finely wrought tale of marriage); Orwell’s Revenge (a computer-aided rewriting of 1984 and a Mark Zuckerberg favorite).
The Films — The Great Beauty is an achingly beautiful Italian film and my favorite movie of all time. Clouds of Sils Maria stars the captivating Juliette Binoche and an unvarnished Kristen Stewart in a role that will launch her as a serious actress. The Gift is a gripping psychological thriller with unexpected twists. I’ll See You In My Dreams is a charming film your mom will love. Mine did.
The Karma — Find volunteer opportunities this weekend, and year-round, on Volunteer Match.
The Calm — Stress relieving coloring books are an artful way to look occupied and avoid the barrage of questions about your personal life.
The Absurd — When the dinner turns into a party, learn how to Whip and Nae Nae.
The App — Update charades night with Ellen DeGeneres’ Heads Up, a hilarious game app that two can play as well as a room full of people.
