The What Winter Wellness Tips – Stay Healthy in January
After weeks of revelry, traveling and watching our healthiest friends (and family) catch every bug imaginable, we have compiled a list of our go-to Whats that keep us in tip top shape during the long, dark winter months. Here are 9 things to keep you healthy in the month of January.
Our friend Kimberly turned us on to 8 Greens, a magical elixir that packs more than 40 cups of greens into one effervescent tablet. We’ve taken these for two years now, and the difference in our energy, skin and sleep is remarkable. With the exception of a sniffle here and there, we’ve remained healthy during the worst of flu seasons. We are hooked on 8Greens and inspired by creator, Dawn Russell’s story. You can read it here.
Nigella Lawson’s Cold Cure Soup is on constant rotation from Nov – March. Tastes delicious and comforts us and our families every time we serve it.
We’re sipping on Kusmi Detox Tea, a blend of maté, green tea, and lemongrass that Amy discovered in a little shop during our trip to Paris. It’s the best part of our morning ritual.
Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic Balm soothes dry winter skin and will keep you moisturized head-to-toe. Magic indeed.
Amy keeps this cool mist humidifier + aromatherapy diffuser in her bedroom, son’s room and in her office. It’s quiet, compact and creates a soothing atmosphere for healing and wellness. She loves the Saje Chill Out Diffuser Blend and EO’s Frankincense Pure Essential Oil for their calming effects on the mind and body.
We discovered this Honey Bourbon Hot Toddy a few years back during a bad bout of pneumonia and it was just what the doctor ordered. Warm, soothing and perfectly indulgent. We were back on our feet in no time and it’s become a winter staple, even in the healthiest of times.
Amy has been taking the Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil for a year now and calls it her “brain juice.” She doubles her intake during the winter months, when she needs an extra boost of energy. There’s a lot of controversy surrounding the benefits of MCT oil. We can only share what has and has not worked based on our personal experiences.
Headspace, is a personal trainer for the mind and is the perfect tool for those moments when we need a little nudge to slow down, reflect and meditate, even if just a few minutes a day. It’s been life-changing for us as we try to create less stress and bring more mindfulness into our lives.
We recently discovered the Cardy Uggs when we had an impromptu sleepover at a friend’s house and needed to borrow some slippers. These are the most comfy and cozy slipper boots our feet have seen in ages and we promptly ordered a pair. Fast-forward to winter, when the days are cold and the nights are long…we never want to take them off and why should we? They are just as awesome running errands as they are cozied up by the fireplace reading a book.
