Issue #2 Our Meditation Hack
Last week we sent around our very first issue. You like it. You love it, even. What a relief. We’re also flattered that 7×7 put me and Amy in their Hot Issue featuring trailblazers like Anna Weinberg, Steph Curry, and Mark Bittman. Our photos may skew fancy but the reality is we’re often scrambling around in old sweaters finding more What to wow you with.

The Drink — Amy lives in Napa and “samples” a lot of wine with her neighbors, Lydia and Rob Mondavi, Jr. (yes, that Mondavi). Nobody knows wine like RMJ so if he says Charles Heidsieck 2005 is the champagne for the season, we deck the halls with it.
The Show — Master of None has all the hipster angst of GIRLS but with more diversity, absurdity, and awkward charm that is trademark Aziz. It’s going to be a hit.
The Frames — Allyn Scura vintage eyewear has eyeglass frames from every era. I’ve been a loyal fan since 2008.
The News — The Brookings Institute is a nonprofit think tank devoted to independent research and policy solutions. Check out their site for a deep dive on global crises from experts and scholars.
The Calm — We all know we should meditate but it’s hard to create a consistent practice. The Muse Headband is pricey but I find the brainwave feedback really useful in guiding, focusing, and tracking my sessions. You can find one on Amazon or more simply, try these free guided meditations from UCLA.
The Rain — Our friend Susan turned us on to Stutterheim Raincoats for women and men. We love their rain capes and their tagline: Swedish Melancholy At Its Driest.
The App — Curiosity Stream is the “Netflix for nonfiction.” I’ve watched shows on physics, technology, and the environment. They’re still finding their bearings but it beats the flea market of facts that is YouTube.
