Beach Reads for Brilliant Minds
Picture this. It's summer. You're on a plane. Or perhaps you've already landed at your destination and you're about to get comfortable on a beach towel or a chaise. What's missing here, aside from a chilled glass of rosé or a refreshing cocktail? For us, it's a great book--preferably something not too heavy but not too saccharine either. We asked our avid readers at The What to share their list of Welterweight fiction, a term we coined to describe well-written works with a sense of intrigue and place--an escape from the daily grind that stimulates your mind but doesn't leave your hopes dashed or have you feeling guilty for enjoying a little fun in the sun. Beach Reads for Brilliant Minds is a list in progress. We welcome your input and will be updating all summer long. If you have recommendations that fit the bill, please email what@thewhatlist and let us know.We purposefully made our list visual for brevity's sake (and because we hate spoilers) but please click on the images to learn more ...
